The MGH MBTA pass program is offered to Partners HealthCare employees and allows you to purchase your pass at a 50% discounted rate. You pay each month through payroll deduction. The cost of the pass is taken on a pre-tax basis up to IRS and Commonwealth of Massachusetts allowable limits.
Program Highlights and Eligibility:
- The MBTA pass program includes SR/TAP, Bus, Link, Commuter Rail Zones 1A through 10, and the Boat Pass.
- Partners HealthCare employees working 20 hours or more a week are eligible for this public transportation subsidy. Employees with parking privileges are not eligible to purchase a subsidized T pass.
- The T pass discount is only available through payroll deduction. Passes are nontransferable and are distributed on the last Thursday of the month. Please check with your Timekeeper for your pass when you first sign up.
- Currently the MBTA (including Commuter Rail) only offers a discounted corporate program for monthly passes. Subsidized daily, weekly or 1-Ride T passes are not available at this time.

- There is a replacement fee of $10.00 for lost MBTA Charlie Cards. This fee may be payroll deducted.
- There will be no replacement fee for broken or defective Charlie Cards (this fee is subject to change).
Important Notes regarding program:
- Deductions for your monthly T pass will occur in the third paycheck of every month.
- The deadline to change or initiate your purchase of a monthly pass through payroll deduction in PeopleSoft is the 14th day of the month.
- You only need to initiate the purchase of monthly passes one time.
