Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Drosophila Geneticist/Molecular Biologist

The Broad Institute and The Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM), Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a highly motivated and independent entry-level Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics Science Program at the Broad Institute. The successful candidate will work on a collaborative project with an interdisciplinary team of scientists to develop next-generation therapeutic agents/CRISPR-based technologies using the model organism, Drosophila. We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with a passion for molecular biology and genetics.

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be situated in the CGM/MGH under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Walker but will also work in close collaboration with Dr. Amit Choudhary’s team at the Broad Institute. The position is available starting immediately.

Responsibilities include:

Planning and execution of experiments

Documentation and statistical analyses of experimental data.

Literature searches for relevant information needed to conduct and interpret experiments, and the preparation of summaries of experimental results

Maintenance of a laboratory notebook and digital records in accordance with Institute guidelines.


 Ph.D. in genetics, biology, biochemistry or a related field.

Working knowledge of cutting-edge genetics, cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques

Experience in basic quantitative methods for analyzing biological data. Experience with coding and use of data-analysis software would be a plus but is not required.

Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Candidate should have an outstanding academic record of accomplishments.

Candidate should be an innovative, data-driven, analytical thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be highly disciplined and organized, with first class record-keeping skills.
