GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Seong laboratory in the Center for Human Genetics Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to study Huntington’s disease (HD), an inherited neurodegenerative disorder caused by CAG expansion in huntingtin gene. Dr. Seong’s laboratory has focused on understanding the underlying HD mechanism and identifying a HD modifier from potential candidates under recent GWA significant signatures using precise genetic Hdh knock-in cells/mice models and HD human patient cells, such as iPS from HD patient fibroblast cells as well as HD postmortem brains.
Suitable candidates should hold a Ph.D. in biochemical or cellular biology, or related discipline. Experiences required are strong biochemistry/cell biology techniques and iPS/other mammalian cells culture. Also, animal (e.g., mouse) experiments and Chip-seq experiences will be favored for specific projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
