This effort will seek to systematically link genetic variation to molecular and cellular phenotypes in the context of metabolic disease.

We are looking for a talented research specialist who will be responsible to build the MGH metabolic cell-based biobank and contribute to make fundamental discoveries in mapping genetic variants in various cell types and tissues, understanding cellular programs, and uncovering mechanisms of disease. This candidate will apply technologies combining the isolation of mesenchymal stem cells from different adipose depot, the isolation of hepatocytes and preparation of histology sections as well as the execution of several molecular biology techniques.

Ideal candidates will participate both in experimental research and lab management. The individual will oversee lab management and contribute to establishing laboratory standards for the team. In this capacity, the Research Specialist oversees space allocation, equipment maintenance, biobank organization and maintaining, and overall lab safety.
