|GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Talkowski Laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic candidate to join our research group. Our research group explores the impact of genomic variation on human disease, with a particular focus on neurodevelopment and neuropsychiatric disorders. We are also dedicated to the development and application of innovations in genome sequencing technologies and genetic diagnostics. The candidate will be expected to have 2+ years of experience in the following techniques: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis, mammalian cell culture, RNAseq.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Prepares basic solutions and performs base-level procedures as assigned (i.e. pipetting, cell and tissue culture, etc.)
*Perform molecular genomics procedures as assigned (i.e. library production, sample archiving, tissue culture for induced pluripotent stem cell [iPSC] models, RNAseq).
*Maintains laboratory notebook.
*Has understanding of molarity.
*Overall lab maintenance, ordering, protocol maintenance.
*Set up and prepares routine experiments as directed.
*Prepare lab reagents, chemicals, instruments and equipment.
