GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Morini and Gao laboratories in the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) are seeking an exceptional Post-Doctoral Research Fellow candidate in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics to direct collaborative projects involving functional transcriptomic studies across multiple neurogenetic disorders. Highly qualified candidate would oversee computational transcriptome analyses for collaborations spanning multiple departments and institutions and involving the integration of RNA-seq datasets generated from human, mouse and cell line samples.

Candidate will have the opportunity to work in a unique translational environment that integrates bioinformatics analysis with technology development and advanced molecular biology. He/She will have significant independence, with appointments to MGH and HMS, and will interact with collaborators within all two institutions. The candidate will also get a chance to work on large sequencing cohorts like GTEx, CommonMind and All-of-us and with cutting edge data types like single-cell RNA and ATAC sequencing, to name a few.

Ideal candidate will have good programming skills, advanced knowledge of statistical methods, advanced expertise in the analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing data focusing on bulk or single cell RNA-seq and its integration with other “omics” data sources or demonstrated expertise in human genetics and bioinformatics. Candidate will also need excellent interpersonal skills to work in a highly collaborative environment across institutions.

A Ph.D. in human genetics, quantitative genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, physics, or mathematics is required. Visa sponsorship is available for Postdoctoral Fellows.
